Description
Portable Patchwork The Women Pioneers of the Original Quick & Easy Quilting Method, with Projects for Today. A fascinating exploration of 19th-century potholder quilts, their origins, and the innovative quilt-as-you-go techniques pioneered by resourceful women quilters.
Pam Weeks WorthenQuilts have been the focus for more than half of Pam Weeks multifaceted life. She started making quilts at the time of Bicentennial craft revival and by the mid-1980’s was designing her own work.
In1991 a class on reproducing antique quilts hooked Pam on quilt history. Her first book was published in 2011 on Civil War quilts made for soldiers, her second, Deeds Not Words in 2019, and Portable Patchwork was published in 2020. Two more books are in the works.
As the Binney Family Curator of the New England Quilt Museum, Pam works with quilters, collectors, institutions, and co-conspirators to plan exhibits and she continues research on the quilts in the museum’s collection.
Pam will be signing books during our Holiday Open House on Saturday, 12/6, between 11-2pm.
