DESCRIPTION:Skill Building on the Longarm Quilting Machine\nPractice your Longarm Free-Motion skills in this class. As a follow up to our BERNINA Q24 Longarm Basics class or for anyone who owns/rents a longarm quilting machine and wants to improve their longer skills\, this class will demonstrate how to take the very basic concepts and beginning stitches of free motion quilting to something you would want to quilt on a favorite quilt top.  From simple vines and loops; advance into leaves and flowers or more abstract designs.  We will discuss marking your tops\, how best to move around the quilt while stitching and using the weight of the machine to your advantage.  Bring your questions to this class.  Students will get a practice session on the BERNINA Q24 machine. Class size limited. \n

SUMMARY:MAKING FISH OR SUNFLOWERS OR BUTTERFLIES... FABRIC COLLAGE
DESCRIPTION:Learn how to make a fusible fabric collage quilt or wall hanging using one of Libby Mortensen’s original patterns or one of  Laura Heine’s popular collage patterns. Choose your design and get started on this fun and easy technique – no sewing necessary until time to quilt. Techniques taught include – how to transfer a design onto foundation fabric\, fuse webbing\, fussy cut motifs and create a colorful design using a simple\, black line drawing. In addition\, color choices and placement of fabrics to create depth and movement in your quilt will be discussed. This is a design class and does not require a sewing machine for the class. Quilting suggestions will be discussed for finishing at home. Supplies needed will depend on choice of pattern. Please purchase pattern before class. Making Fish (pictured) is an easy pattern to start with to learn the basics.
