Basics of landscaping followed by experimentation with multiple views and transparencies. Learn a liberating method of layering landscapes with Jo Diggs based on free-hand and direct designing. Layering is used to create depth, distance, light effects, reflections, and glowing colors. The class starts with small “quickies” and progresses to larger projects of multiple view landscapes, missing and melding, using collage, transparency, and additional components. The emphasis is on “non-binding” experimentation. Layering free-cut appliqué suits many subjects such as fish which students may work on instead of or in addition to landscapes.
