Ready to make some exciting embroidery projects? Join Kay Hoffman, embroiderer extraordinaire, to learn how to make distinctive embroidered applique designs (with optional quilting in the hoop) with Sarah Vedeler’s Flower of Life design collection. Learn tips and tricks for hooping, multi-hooping, positioning, stabilizing, and thread selection. In this class students may choose to embroider on Sarah Vedeler’s Transformation sample fabric, a ready made shoe bag, or their own fabric to take home to make a pillow or purse with one of the beautiful designs from the Flower of Life design collection. Sample fabric, stabilizer, thread and one of the designs from the Flower of Life design collection are provided. You may bring your machine to get more familiar with it, use one of ours or observe. Sarah Vedeler’s Transformation fabric collection precuts are available for purchase in 10″x 10″ packs and 5″x 5″ packs. Students may choose to stay the whole day, (9:30-4:00 ($30) or half day 9:30-12:30 ($15.00) with a lunch break 12:30-1:00pm.
The Flower of Life design collection was inspired by the Flower of Life symbol that can be found in many spiritual and religious teachings. With it’s foundation in geometry, there are infinite possibilities for creating designs within the design. The results are a spectacular feast for the eyes that is also soothing to the heart and soul. Imagine jumbo pillows featuring a stunning embroidered appliqué design that is 20″ across. Feature your favorite fabrics and brighten up any room.
